End-Of-Year Letter from Carolyn Jordan

End-Of-Year Letter from Carolyn Jordan

As we bid farewell to 2023, we reflect on the journey we've had together, filled with accomplishments and growth. The Neighborhood CU Foundation has experienced significant milestones this year, and I am thrilled to share our progress with you in this end-of-year newsletter.

Educational Advancements

One of our core missions is to empower individuals with financial knowledge. This year, we proudly awarded scholarships to two dedicated Neighborhood Credit Union employees, enabling them to become Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors. These individuals will play a crucial role in guiding our members towards financial wellness.

Additionally, we provided three $2,000 scholarships to deserving students, supporting their pursuit of higher education. Investing in the education of our future leaders is a commitment we hold dear, and we are excited to witness the positive impact they will make.

To further our educational initiatives, we conducted five webinars covering essential topics such as student loans, credit management, retirement planning, and wealth management strategies. These sessions were well-received, fostering a community of informed and financially savvy individuals.

Innovative Tools for Financial Empowerment

This year, we introduced BUDGETWIDGET, an interactive platform designed to add an element of fun and competition to budgeting. This tool allows our members to compare their budgets with peers in their respective areas, encouraging everyone to level up their financial skills and achieve their financial goals.

Change in Leadership

As we celebrate our achievements, we also bid a fond farewell to our past president, Jessie Swendig. Jessie's exceptional leadership since the foundation's inception in 2021 has been invaluable. We extend our heartfelt thanks for her dedication and wish her success in all her future endeavors.

I am honored to assume the role of the new president of the Neighborhood CU Foundation. Together with Randall Till, our incoming secretary, we are committed to building on the foundation's success and furthering our impact in the community.

Exciting Partnership and Future Endeavors

Looking ahead to 2024, we are thrilled to announce a partnership with Neighborhood Credit Union to launch "HerMoney" by Jean Chatzky. This collaboration will bring fresh and engaging educational content in the form of articles and videos, enhancing your relationship with money, and providing valuable insights into financial well-being.

As we conclude this year, I want to express my gratitude to each of you for your unwavering support. The Neighborhood CU Foundation is committed to serving you, and we eagerly anticipate the opportunities that the coming year will bring.

Wishing you a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year!
